Healthy Michigan Plan - Annual Renewal

If you are enrolled in Healthy Michigan Plan health care coverage, you are required to complete health care coverage renewal paperwork at least every 12 months. The steps below will give you information on what to expect at annual renewal and what you need to do to keep your coverage. Download a Michigan Medicaid Renewal Guide 2015 that walks you through the following steps by clicking here.

STEP ONE
You should receive a renewal (Redetermination) letter in the mail and in your MI Bridges online account. Your renewal letter (also called a Redetermination letter) will arrive in your 11th month of coverage. The month of your renewal will be based on the date you enrolled in coverage.

STEP TWO
You can log-in to your MI Bridges account to complete renewal online or you can complete and return the Redetermination form you receive in the mail.
To complete your renewal online, visit michigan.gov/mibridges. You will log-in using the MI Bridges username and password you created when you applied. If you do not have an account, you can create one.
Your renewal due date is listed on the first page of your renewal letter and forms. If you need more time, contact your DHHS Specialist and request an extension. Your Specialist can grant up to two 10 day extensions; however you may not be notified that your request was granted.

STEP THREE
If you do not turn in the renewal paperwork by the deadline, you may lose your coverage. If you lose your coverage you can reapply at any time.
If you miss the deadline to return your renewal paperwork, you will receive a notice informing you of the date your health care coverage will end.
If you lose your coverage, you can reapply at any time through your MI Bridges online account, in person with a local assister, through your local DHHS office, or through Healthcare.gov.
If you are no longer eligible for Healthy Michigan Plan, you can still get coverage! Call us at 313-846-6030 and ask to speak with one of our navigators.
